Made in Germany | Poland -- Dearth of Skilled Labor

For a long time, German companies outsourced production to Poland. But now skilled labor is growing scarce there for two reasons: Firstly, Poland's economy is growing at a rapid rate of 6 point 1 percent annually, soaking up the labor pool.And secondly, many young people have left the country to work for higher wages in Britain and Ireland. Jaroslaw Wiecrzorek, manager of the auto supplier Romag in Poznan can't find qualified personnel at home anymore. So he built up a production site in Passewalk in eastern Germany. There, employees are happy to have found work and the mayor welcomes investment. The company has benefited, too: its products have been selling better since it started up production in Germany, after all, it can now put the attractive label "Made in Germany" on them.
